The Story Behind Villa Samá

Villa Samá is not just a beachside escape—it's the result of a family's vision, perseverance, and deep love for the Mediterranean way of life.

Located in Faro de Cullera, this charming property was first purchased in 2019 by a family of four. At the time, the house had been abandoned for nearly two decades. There was no electricity or running water, the windows were broken, and time had clearly taken its toll. Yet despite the state of disrepair, the family saw something special: a peaceful retreat waiting to be brought back to life.

What followed was a true labor of love. While the two adult children lived in different cities for work, the parents made the house their home and began the slow and steady process of transformation. The father took on most of the renovation work himself—restoring, rebuilding, and reimagining every corner. The mother became the heart of the operation, managing the guest experience and keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

Over time, their dedication turned a forgotten building into Villa Samá—a welcoming, sun-soaked property just steps from the sea. With both a spacious main house and a cozy apartment, the villa is now a peaceful hideaway for travelers looking to experience the Mediterranean coast in a more personal, authentic way.

Villa Samá remains a family-run project, infused with the warmth and care that only comes from a dream built with one’s own hands

A House with History

Originally built in 1956, Villa Samá stands as a quiet witness to the evolution of Faro de Cullera. At the time, the area looked nothing like it does today—surrounded by open landscapes, few constructions, and the endless stretch of the Mediterranean just beyond. It was a simpler time, and the house, even in its early years, was always tied to the rhythm of the sea.

As decades passed and the region developed, the house slowly fell into disuse. By the time the family purchased it in 2019, it had been left untouched for almost 20 years.

We invite you to take a look at this transformation—from the original photos of the house in the 1950s, to its abandoned state in 2019, and finally to the peaceful retreat it is today.
